In October 2000, the gallery opened on the first floor of Perlenpfuhl 4 in Cologne city centre. Since 2006, it has been located in Cologne's Südstadt district, on the third floor of Volksgartenstraße 10. Over the past 25 years, around 150 exhibitions featuring works by around 50 artists have been held, most of them solo exhibitions.

Werner Klein, the expert on quietness in art (Handelsblatt).

The gallery's programme focuses on drawing and conceptual painting. In the field of drawing, the gallery has become one of the most important locations in the German art scene.

From the outset, it was about more than just a series of exhibitions. That is why the title of the third exhibition in 2001 was WIR (WE), featuring works by the five artists represented by the gallery at that time. After 25 years, we are revisiting the title and showing works by the 22 artists we represent today.

Werner Klein has created a place where artists, collectors, journalists, curators and all other art lovers can meet to engage with art and each other with curiosity, respect and mindfulness.
